We were born to take care of ourselves

We were born to take care of ourselves

Health is undeniably the most important asset we have; It's not worth having money, success or harmonious relationships in life if we don't enjoy the health necessary to enjoy them.

But how much attention do we pay to this precious asset?

We speak of health and illness as absolute states, not considering, in general, the countless nuances and variables that accompany our daily condition.

We say we are (completely) healthy or, at the opposite extreme, we have any specific disease or illnesses diagnosed.

Will health and illness be watertight and separable categories?

We could say that no one is 100% healthy or 100% sick, but rather in a process in perpetual motion.

Health and illness constantly alternate with each other and it is, paradoxically, this alternation that is responsible for maintaining the health process.

But then, whose responsibility is this process?

One of the paradoxes of health and illness is that we get sick because we are healthy: illness is the body's way of healing itself. This does not mean that the disease does not need to be treated (sometimes even symptomatically and invasively), but it must first of all be understood. That is, we must understand what signals the body is giving us before we treat it symptomatically with merely symptomatic practices.

This paradigm about illness and health contrasts greatly with the modern way of looking at these issues: the current paradigm is that illness is an enemy to be defeated and, for that, the available medical arsenal is used, which will try to obtain a symptomatic cure for the problem and not solve it at its source.

Most modern therapeutic practices do not also take into account the regenerative ability innate to all living organisms.

We have an extraordinary capacity for recovery, as long as the body is allowed to enjoy the ideal conditions for them. These conditions are, among others, a correct diet, clean air, good balance between activity and rest and the proper use of the mind and emotions. The ideal conditions are therefore those that are based on quality and balance.

From an etymological point of view, “disease” originates from “malade” or “malate”, which derive from the words “male habitus” or bad habits.

As a Buddhist saying goes, “If you want to know what your past was like, look at who you are today. If you want to know what your future will look like, look at what you are doing now.”

It is necessary to consider deeply, which personal role we assume in the creation of our life and in the reality that we perceive around us. Blaming others or circumstances does not allow us to take the helm of the boat of life, of our life, into our own hands.

Our relationship with the World is, above all, a relationship with ourselves, in which the first will be no more than a reflection of the second. Hence, all transforming processes must begin within us, so that results can be derived from them on the outside.

When we wake up to the way we live or survive, we enter into a relationship with ourselves. And when we relate to ourselves, we must do what we do with the people we love; to be attentive to our wills, to our emotions, to our body, to have time to listen to each other, to love each other.

Self-love is the basis of all other loves and it is only through self-love that selfless love is possible. Otherwise, we will not achieve balance between giving and receiving. Balance is the key to life and the essence of balance is Self-care.

Loving us is a choice! And loving us is not selfish; It's Self-Love! It's Self-Care!

You can only change if that is your choice. It's your decision. But consider a lot when deciding, because the only weight that belongs to us is the weight of our choices. Interestingly, it's also our superpower. We always have a choice. We cannot change an outer event, but we can transform the inner experience.

The future does not exist, because when that moment arrives, it will always be present. And the gift is a gift!

Therefore, we are always in time to start over, to resignify and write a new history written in the present!

Be a healer by starting to change your habits TODAY. That power is within you and not outside!

Be the hero of your life and your story!

And live life with more Lucydez!
